APRETUDE is given every other month by a healthcare provider after initiation injections have been given 1 month apart for 2 consecutive months. Stay under a provider’s care while receiving APRETUDE. You must receive it as scheduled. If you will miss a scheduled injection by more than 7 days, call your provider right away.

You’re on the path to helping protect yourself from HIV with APRETUDE.
Now that you have talked to your doctor, you may be asking, “What’s next?”
Once you’ve started APRETUDE, it's important to keep up with your appointments.
So, what may help you stay on track? Three considerations:
Setting your APRETUDE routine.
Planning for injection appointments may take some getting used to, but with practice, you’ll become familiar with the process. Here are a few tips to get you started:
- Have any questions for your doctor written down and ready to go
- Schedule your injection appointments in advance and highlight them on your calendar
- Consider treating yourself post-appointment. You know you deserve it!
Staying on target.
You and your healthcare provider will choose 1 day every other month* for your injection—that's called your Target Appointment Date. It’s essential to remain on track by getting your injections at that time. That said, you do have a Flexible Appointment Window—from 7 days before to 7 days after your Target Appointment Date.
So, if you can’t make your Target Appointment Date, contact your healthcare provider right away to set up a new appointment within your Flexible Appointment Window.

Getting tested.
While you’re on APRETUDE, your healthcare provider will test you for HIV before each injection. They’ll also test you for sexually transmitted infections. It’s another way to help you stay informed about your health.
